Dubai – The Golden City

Over the last 40 years, Dubai has transformed from a local trading community into a mega city. With a population of over 3 million people Dubai now boasts 7-star hotels, huge shopping malls, several man-made islands and numerous business parks.

So why is Dubai such a popular destination for both people and businesses to relocate to?

Infrastructure

Over recent years there has been huge investment in Dubai’s infrastructure to help alleviate the congestions issues that were previously seen in the city. Location

As Dubai is located between Europe and Asia it offers the perfect location to travel to many popular countries, with a huge amount being only a short flight of 5-6 hours away. In 2016, Dubai International Airport was the third busiest airport in the world, handling over 83 million passengers. Dubai also has two major commercial ports, Port Rashid and Port Jebel Ali. Port Jebel Ali is the world’s largest man-made harbour, the biggest port in the Middle East and is the 7th busiest port in the world.

Booming Economy

Dubai has one of the world’s fastest growing economies. Historically Dubai’s economy was built on the back of the oil industry but nowadays revenues from oil and natural gas account for less than 5%. Construction, tourism, technology and finance all add to Dubai’s dynamic and diverse economy. Climate
